Sujit spent his childhood in several parts of the country. He did his schooling in Bhubaneswar, Lucknow & Bhopal. His education in different parts of the country gave him a feel of various cultures of different states and also very fond memories of various schools and friends. After school, he did his graduation in Physics from Fergusson College in Pune. Post that he did his PGDBM in 1994 from IIM Bangalore.
 
He got his first job in Hindustan Lever Ltd. (now HUL) from campus. As a Management trainee, he worked in various parts of the country. He started off with his sales stint in rural TN. This was fun as well as challenging since he had to work as a salesman & manage a sales team without knowing the local language. He did his Technical stint in the newly setup ‘Walls’ factory in Nashik. Just like his days in school, even for his training, he had to travel in various places across the country – from Gujarat to the North East. This gave him good exposure to various types of people, various cultures and the experience of differing working styles
 
His first sales job was as an Area Sales Manager in Orissa in the Beverages division of HLL. This was an exciting experience for him not just because Orissa happens to be his birthplace but also because the state had declined in volumes for a few years prior to Sujit joining there. It thus presented a business challenge for him. He got to spend 2 good years there - the business grew and it was fun for him to be working there. Subsequently he worked in UP and Delhi before moving to Marketing.
 
His initiation to Marketing came while taking care of Deluxe Green Label – the largest filter coffee brand in the country. Subsequently, he managed Lipton Taaza, the largest tea brand in the country. Both these stints were very exciting since they gave Sujit the experience of being a business manager with a strong Marketing focus.
 
From here, he moved on to telecom – a sunrise business in 2002. He joined Reliance Infocomm before their launch phase and was a key member of the brand team that established the brand. He handled almost all the launch campaigns from April 2002 till Dec. 2004.
 
Subsequently, he joined another sunrise industry – Life Insurance. He joined ICICI Prudential Life Insurance as Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications in Jan 2005. This brand is today the most powerful brand in private Life Insurance. During the last 5 years, the brand has changed the paradigm of insurance advertising. Several of their campaigns have been recognized and appreciated at major advertising and marketing forums in the last 5 years. Insurance is today seen as long term goal based savings tool instead of only a tool to help family in case of death. In addition to handling marketing, he also setup the Direct Sales channel of the company. Today, he is also in-charge of Service Quality for the organisation.
 
Outside of work what he likes most is to spend time with his wife, Rupali, and daughter, Sharanya. As a family, they like going out on trips together. Playing with Sharanya and seeing her discover the world is to Sujit the most wonderful thing in life.
