Current Assignment: Aircel Limited (Oct 2007 till date) as Chief Marketing Officer
Key Achievements :
  • Pan-India launch of Aircel in March 2009 focusing the brand on multifunctionality of the mobile, differentiating Aircel as the modern refreshing face of telecom.
  • Launch of the PocketInternet mix which targeted democratizing data usage on the mobile with a consumer friendly nomenclature of PocketInternet, physical cards that mimicked current Pre-paid recharging behavior, sachet pricing that addressed the affordability barrier. This has led to a more than ten-fold increase in the number of users of the PocketInternet service.
  • Launch of the innovative 1-2-3 STD telescopic product campaign which rewarded consumers’ as per their usage.
  • Launch of the “Save Our Tigers” national initiative partnering with WWF which aims to highlight that just 1411 tigers are left and encourages people to embrace the cause.

Worked across a wide breadth of FMCG categories spanning Foods to Personal products. Some notable achievements were :
 
Kissan Ketchup : Launched the innovative Squeezo Pack which led to double digit brand growth.
 
Hamam Soap : Led the relaunch on the Herbal Platform which resulted in share gain for the brand.
 
Axe Deodorant : Led the Axe Pulse and Dimension launches which catapulted the brand to the No.1 position.
 
Pan-Asia relaunch of the Family Health Shampoo portfolio as the Regional Brand Director.
 
Personal details
Rahul is a MBA from IIM Kolkata and an Economics Honours graduate from St.Stephen’s College, New Delhi. He is an avid tennis player.
