As the Chief Revenue Officer & Head Niche Channels at Zee Entertainment Enterprise Ltd. (ZEEL), Joy’s responsibility involves maximization of the company's value share through ensuring quality service to business constituents, strategizing & initiating value innovations as well as managing overall business (P & L) & brand of the network’s niche channels in the English & Music genre. Over the last 5 years at ZEEL, he has transformed the Zee sales force into a cutting-edge aggressive unit – one that has propelled its revenue into a high-growth trajectory.
His academic armory includes graduation from National Defense Academy, Masters in Marketing Management from NMIMS and, more recently (in Aug 09), the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School.
Prior to his current stint at ZEEL, Joy has a rich 15 year experience in strategic media sales across key media organizations. He started his career with Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. (a.k.a. The Times Of India Group) in Sales. To expand his horizons, he ventured into the then emerging Television industry by joining Star Network and played a crucial role in defining the Sales business processes thereby multiplying their advertising revenues.
Moreover, with media being at the center of all his activities, he is also on the committee of IBF (Indian Broadcasting Foundation), whose prime objective is to codify a smooth working and business relationship with AAAI (Advertising Agencies Association of India) and set various Television Industry norms, parameters and benchmarks.
